In this topic, training facilities, materials, curriculum, work-based training, trainers’ training and skills assessment in TVET institutions and workplaces will be focused. In addition, cooperation between the demand side (employer) and supply side (school) to reduce skills mismatch will be also focused.
Recently, workers are required to acquire not simple production skills but more multiple/comprehensive problem-solving skills. This topic will cover vocational skills, cognitive skills, non-cognitive skills and anticipated skills needed in a rapidly changing labour market such as ICT skills. In addition, issues related to skills of workers such as youth employability, lower skilled workers, and gender equality will be also focused.
For a smooth transition of the knowledge and skills learned in basic education and TVET institutions to the knowledge and skills needed in labour market, strong partnerships between government, schools, private sectors and international organization is essential. This topic will also focus on the projects of JICA, Japanese companies and university in Africa and Asia.
This topic will focus on industrial structure, new business, indigenous technology, and multinational company in Africa and Asia. In addition, public security, poverty reduction, problems related to corruptions and immigrants and refugees will be also covered.
